The Welsh Grand Prix Blog

It's motorsport, isn't it?

To those few who bother reading, sorry for the lack of any activity for the last month. Been busy with one thing or another, and also been totally unenthusiastic about F1 for one reason or another. It’s just not been a good season so far. Yes, 3 winners out of 3, a close championship battle, a great race in Australia and so on, but it really doesn’t look as if we’re in for a classic, to say the least. This is the first time in 3 years that a team has taken 4 poles on the bounce, something even Brawn at their most dominant couldn’t do. And because F1 is so controlled, with homologated chassis to prevent upgrades, the engine freeze, control tyres that aren’t good for the sport and so on, it’s not going to change overnight like last year. Red Bull have a bit more cash to spend on their car so that they won’t stop developing it less than halfway through the season

Don’t expect much more than that for a few days as well, unless I drop in to rant even more. Or I get very, very bored (which doesn’t including watching F1 GPs)
