As we are now over the half-distance mark for the season, I’ve rated every driver to have competed so far out of 10

Lewis Hamilton: 6/10 – Has looked quick at times but a few too many mistakes from trying too hard
Heikki Kovalainen: 5/10 – Has outpaced Lewis a couple of times in qualifying but not much else

Felipe Massa: 8/10 – Drive in the wet in China the highlight of a solid season, continuing to beat Kimi
Kimi Raikkonen: 5/10 – Just 1 podium of note and not much else, looks like a man on his way out

Robert Kubica: 5/10 – Near-win in Australia a false dawn, has struggled in adversity
Nick Heidfeld: 5/10 – Has outperformed team mate Kubica a few times and podiumed in Malaysia

Fernando Alonso: 7/10 – Consistent points scorer in machinery that shouldn’t be capable
Nelson Piquet Jr: 2/10 – Even worse than last year; slow and accident prone. Future looks bleak

Jarno Trulli: 7/10 – When the car has gone well, he has gone well. Still outpacing Glock
Timo Glock: 6/10 – Qualifying pace still disappointing, but some solid race performances

Sebastien Bourdais: 4/10 – Outperformed by rookie team mate, although likely dismissal is probably harsh
Sebastien Buemi: 6/10 – Impressed on his debut and has continued to perform respectably

Mark Webber: 9/10 – Consistently outracing Vettel, having beaten him in 4 of the last 5. The form man
Sebastian Vettel: 8/10 – Has been very quick and deserved both wins, but has made a couple of costly mistakes

Nico Rosberg: 7/10 – At times looks like one of the best, such as in Malaysia and Germany, but not always
Kazuki Nakajima: 4/10 – Still no points and on the whole still not good enough, but a couple of decent drives

Adrian Sutil: 6/10 – Unlucky not to score FI’s first points in 2 occasions. Could benefit more from a better car
Giancarlo Fisichella: 6/10 – Still on a par with Sutil, with solid drive to 9th in Monaco the highlight so far

Jenson Button: 9/10 – Faultless for the first 7 races and deserves the championship lead
Rubens Barrichello: 7/10 – Not quite good enough in a couple of key races, but deserves a 10th win
