It's motorsport, isn't it?

Force India break ranks and commit unconditionally

…so says top German motorsport mag Auto Motor und Sport, anyway – the same magazine that were the first to break news of the reinvestigation into the Trulli/Hamilton incident in Australia, I remind you. It will be big news if true – another weakening of FOTA. Although Force India are probably the least well-known team on the grid, it will demonstrate that FOTA is still far from united. They also have strong ties with Mercedes due to their technical partnership – perhaps a hint?

It won’t be an enormous surprise, though, and perhaps not an enormous turning point. That will come if and when Brawn break away, and another if and when a manufacturer or manufacturer-backed team like McLaren decides to do the same. Nonetheless, 8 is less than 9 for FOTA.
